Academics Blog » Mechanical Engineering - 0 views

"I also chose mechanical engineering because it is a very broad major. Graduating with a MechE degree opens a variety of career paths. Relevant post-grad job topics include cars, airplanes, heating and cooling systems, manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, robots, medical devices and much more. I like the idea that I was leaving my options open by being a MechE. Last, it seems to me that with the technology advancements and global problems of today, mechanical engineers will be at the forefront of these solutions. I am not positive what I want to do when I graduate, but I am interested in alternative energy, especially wind technology. I like to think I am going to solve the world's energy problems."

Life on the Road as a Pilot: Scholarship Announcement from Girls With Wings - 0 views

"I fly because every time I get in my airplane I am pushing myself to become a better version of myself. Flying requires you to be a good listener, detail-oriented, and build a value system which is constantly requiring you to evaluate your skill and accept constructive criticism from others. It has built faith in myself and has allowed me to listen to that voice inside which says this is a blast and shows me what I am capable of. I want to be that encourager of other girls and women who think that aviation is something that could be fun to be a part of but never give it a second thought."

Frequently Asked Q: Turn an iPad Into an Oscilloscope - 1 views

  •
MSO-104 oscilloscope. What makes this scope so different? It is a very small module, smaller than the Arduino Uno sitting next to it on my desk, that plugs into your iOS device and your iOS device handles all of the display and heavy duty work for the oscilloscope! I usually have my iPad or iPhone with me when I am working so this seemed like an ideal solution.

"My name is Amy Blechman and I am the 2008 Scholarship recipient. Winning the Girls with Wings scholarship meant the world to me because it allowed me to further my training and I was able to afford my first solo flight! That was the best experience of my life thus far and it gave me an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment and a smile from ear to ear that made it difficult to make my radio calls!"

WEYHRAUCH LAW GROUP Provides legal support to the aviation community & pilots in the HI... - 0 views

  • 'Special Issuance,' may take several YEARS to accomplish. During this time, there is almost always NO salary, the costs associated with it are NOT reimbursed
  • It is, quite literally, the FAA's way, "or the highway." In effect, the pilot is beholden to his/her assigned medical providers (about whom she has no choice) and treatment philosophy.
  • this becomes the pilot's only mode of maintaining sobriety, and the only method about which she can be forthcoming; other modes of maintaining sobriety will elicit suspicion, and delay issuance of the below:
